Excellent product for the price. July 25, 2010 Carlyle E. Fleming (Mesa, Arizona) I received the product in a very timely manner. It was very easy to set up the converter box and the functions were also easy to use. I am pleased with this purchase.
works great July 21, 2010 Elaine Brink Easy to set up. This is the third box I have purchased (all from different manufacturers)and this model is the best of the three. I highly recommend this box to anyone who needs an HD converter.
Basic converter box for a reasonable price gets the job done July 20, 2010 bearboo2 (CA, United States) My previous converter was by Dolby. Dolby didn't have the different screen resolution options but the resolution was a tiny bit clearer. This converter is much easier to set up - no need to read directions that come with it. The remote control is rather cheap and I'll be lucky if the numbers on the buttons last 3 months, which is the warranty period. The power cord is so short I will need to get an extension cord for it to reach from the entertainment center to the wall. This is rather irritating as I hate extension cord "rat nests as they are messy looking and a fire hazard. $40 seems to be the average price for a converter box. Hopefully this one will last longer then the Dobly converter box that didn't even last a full year.
Great, easy to use converter box July 20, 2010 Tien Lin (LA, California) It works really well with a basic RCA indoor antenna on my old analog Sony TV. I use a spare video audio RCA cable to hook it up to the TV. The TV image is excellent. The converter shows on-screen signal strength and quality from 0% to 100% and that really helps to find the best location to place your antenna. Overall I am happy with this unit except for few minor issues: the remote control buttons are very small, when you re-arrange channels it does not save in memory (this feature doesn't work), and when you attemp to upgrade the unit's software it asks for password.
Gets the job done July 19, 2010 R. Fidler (Phoenix, AZ) Setup is very easy. I do like that it shows you the signal strength on a per channel basis (manual channel scan) so if you're trying to get a particular channel that doesn't show up on auto scan, you can see what position of the antenna gives you the pick-up for that particular channel - that was helpful for me.
The remote is pretty lame, but we'll see how it holds up.
Overall, it does it's job.
