Does just what it should September 5, 2010 Richard D. Decker (Yorktown, VA USA) While it appears on the cheap side this works just as it should and has been very helpful doing some delicate repair work.
Outstanding product August 23, 2010 allangideon I'm blown away buy the quality of the product when considering the price! Don't see how they do it considering it's made in china and shipped here to Washington state. Now about the product: I don't use it every day or commercially, so it appears that the product will last some time. The slide down round magnifier may slip later after some use [according to other reviewers]; if that happens I will remove the screw and insert a star or other lock washer on the screw and if needed apply some quality plastic glue to the end of the screw threads prior to reinserting the screw. IF you do don't tighten the screw down too tight. The quality of the optics is first rate for my use; didn't realize it from the advertisement but there are two main magnifiers that flip up and down [in and out of view]in case one would like to use some combination of the three magnifications. The light transmission, clarity, and color rendition of the plastic lens is outstanding considering the price. The materials used in the rest of the product are typically some unknown plastic that appear to be of reasonable quality? note: I don't detect a chemical odor coming from the plastic.
Poor Quality but Good Value August 7, 2010 Jim S It's shoddy, but adequate for occasional use, and a good value considering the $6 price. I gave it 4 stars because of the price.
I had two problems with mine:
1. The flip-down lens is very difficult to flip back up.
2. There is not enough friction to keep the visor in a horizontal position. It keeps falling down. The solution is to place the object you want to look at so you can look directly down, with gravity on your side.
I notice that others have different problems, so there is probably a lot of variation from sample to sample.
The headband, LEDs, and optics seemed OK. The instructions are unclear, but you can figure it out without them.
I'm glad I got it, and recommend it for infrequent use.
works for what i needed it for... August 5, 2010 djjem64 could use a couple closer views but it does work for what i needed it for so i am happy with my purchase
Nice magnifier July 28, 2010 Thomas DuPont (Dearborn, MI USA) Good piece of equipment. The lights are not very bright but the hand band is comfortable and the lenses are clear.
