Customer Reviews:
Well By the Reviews I have seen I just ordered My Samsung 52″ 850 two days ago.
Now I need some help on this guys, First time having an HDTV ( current tv 50 inch sony plasma 7-8 years old)..
Wich HDMI cables are good. I heard Monster cables are over priced and alot of reviews state that there is no difference in quallity picture and sound between those expensive ones and cheap ones? I need them black between 6-10 Feet Long.
I Have a PS3 and a DVD with HDMI inputs. HDMI is new to me so i been doing my home work on reviews and such. But I wan’t to know how many HDMI cables I need and of what speed?
Thanks in advance!
Great LCD picture. Would rank it the same as the offerings from Sony. However my set had some clouding issues along with a warped panel! The set was bowed left to right and top to bottom. If your looking at it head on, no problem. If you view it from the side as in my home, you can notice it. Im in the process of having it replaced. lastly the sound is barely acceptable. You need to turn the surround sound on and crank the bass all the way up to barely get by. The Panasonic plasmas sound much better out of the box. if your doing a surround system its not a problem. The picture is as good as it gets for high def. The extreams between black and white is amazing! Motion is as good if not better than all the current high def panels. It is VERY thin but you need to understand that even though its only 1.9 inches wide, the imputs are NOT recessed so you need to get the set about 2 more inches away from the wall either on a bracket or stand. i also have a 1080p plasma and to be honest, Id rather watch the lcd. Theres just something about the back lighting that makes the image look 3D and super contrasty! Watching video taped material like games, boxing matches leave my guests with their mouths open, its that good. Hooked up to my PS3 or any blu ray player will give you true 1080P and some great images without the compression artifacts associated with cable tv (even if you have a hi def box). A great purchase even with the minor issues noted before. I guess they compromised the avail. space to install some good speakers for making the panel 2 inches thick which is a waste due to the need to get your plugs in the back which makes it more like 4 inches in depth. lastly, the Picture in Picture which is only found on the Samsung and Pioneer is fantastic! 2 games in hi def?!?!?!?! pure joy! Also has a USB port to display your pictures in a slideshow….Icing on the cake. I also play games on it and im very happy that there are NO burn in possibilities. All in all, a great buy even with the minor issues!
Four months ago, we bought the Sony KDL52WL140 from Sams club. Three weeks ago we replaced it with the Samsung LN52A850. What a difference! (but, give Sams club a “thumbs up” because they took the Sony back for a full refund – no problems at all)
The Samsung has more dynamic color than the Sony and the color stays true from wider viewing angles. I know some people complain about the internal speakers on the Samsung but I cannot speak to that issue as we never use the TV speakers anyway. The Samsung is much cooler (as in creates less heat) than the Sony. The Sony was way too hot (even when the brightness and backlighting were set to low levels.)
The Samsung is thinner than the Sony and also has a USB port for playing videos and such from thumb drives, etc.
We could not be happier with the Samsung. Also, the deliver process was fast, smooth, and FREE! Gotta give this puppy 5 stars!
Samsung LN52A650 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color The price was excellent, the delivery was exactly as promised (gently carried from truck to home, set up where I wanted, wires connected, box taken away if requested) and the unit has performed just as good as when I saw it in the electronics store near my home, just that with no shipping and tax I saved close to $900.00. Vivid colors, no motion blur and the swivel feature on the base comes in handy too! I feel this was a most excellent choice for both quality and price.

We live in a small town, 130 miles from the drop off point. The first two times the company tried to deliver, they could not find the address. It was finally delivered on the third try. White glove? Forget it. They had no idea what I was talking about. They put the unit inside the front door and left.I connected the unit and it worked fine for the first 4 or 5 hours then it went from HDMI to TV and started to hunt for a signal channel. Called the company and they sent out a repairman (94 miles one way). Changed two large boards the first trip out and a small board the second trip out. That fixed it. The company was great to deal with and stayed with the problem untit it was fixed including replaceing the TV if necessary. The unit has worked great ever since and we are happy with the picture and sound. Aside from the initial problem,I can find no faults with the TV or company.
I had read the reviews and had even seen this TV in local stores, but I was most concerned about shipping damage. Pilot did a great job and the box looked like it had just come out of the factory, not a scratch on it. As I expected, the picture is great, and in my opinion the sound is much better than some reviews I had read. Less than half hour out the box, I was watching TV. Football games have a whole new meaning watching on this TV. And to top it off, I saved about $700 compared to the local stores.
This TV is simply great, I went from a 26″ tube to this TV. There is no comparison in the quality of picture and the size is perfect. Any bigger and the picture would come out of the TV. The options for making picture changes are very easy navigate through and even explained very well for those that don’t know all the TV feature terms. Iknow it has a higher rating on the controls than other TV’s, but I think the layout of the controls for Rev. & Fast Fwd could have been located so it would be easier to control using your thumb. The buttons are clear at the top of the controls. Overall, I now know why this is rated the #1 LCD TV out there, because it deserves to be.
I waited patiently until the most important aspects of the perfect LCD HDTV were finally realized like 1080P, 120hz and motion blur. Only then did I decide to take the plunge and buy a HD TV. My timing was right and now I believe that any near future improvements/advancements in TV picture quality will be inconsequential by today’s standards and manufacturers will likely focus their attention to things like energy efficiency, weight saving and panel thinness.
With that said, I wanted a 1080P LCD HDTV with the best picture quality available. After spending months reading, comparing, viewing and scrutinizing the specs for all 50″ or larger LCD HDTV’s, this LCD HDTV is the best one bar none. I’ve had it two (2) weeks now and I still can’t believe the quality of the picture.
Please don’t take my word for this sensational HDTV. Just look at the sheer volume and overwhelming number of reviews from happy customers. The proof is in the satisfaction of ownership.

I exchanged the 52A750 I had purchased due to the “halo” problem it had eventhough the picture was excellent, for the 52A850 I now have. The picture on the 850 is even sharper than the 750. This set is outstanding. I have no complaints at all and am enjoying this set.Samsung was really good about taking care of the problem I had with the 750 model. Got approval for an exchanged within days of my complaint.
reviews of LN52A850 and KDL-52XBR6
I recieved the TV 09DEC08, and had it mounted the next day. The TV is a georgeous addition to any living room with its cosmetics. And the picture contrast is unbelievable even with standard DVD’s and if you have HD cable service from your local provider you can enjoy the ultimate tv watching experience. Yes it is true the ONLY down fall is the horrible cheap sound from the speakers, I have heard better sound from a CPU Monitor., But just as all the reviews said if you shelled out the cash for this item most likely you already have a home theatre system which I do to compliment encompass the whole entire viewing and sound pleasure. Overall I gave 4 out of 5, due to the sound but overall still happy with my Christmas Present to ME. And it makes you smile everytime you walk in the room.

The viewing angles are where I see a big difference from what I’m used to. The picture quality shows little or no change no matter how far to the side you get. I’ve laid on the floor directly below the set and the picture is great, and even when I stand right next to it and look down on it the picture is still great.
