I love this tv!
I did a lot of research before deciding on this Samsung. I wanted 1080p with Auto Motion Plus 120Hz, and I wanted at least a 40 inch screen. After spending about 30 or 40 hours comparing this model with comparable models, I bought this on Amazon and I have been absolutely thrilled! The picture was beautiful right out of the box, and the HD signals from my DirecTV satellite are transformed into the clearest, sharpest images I have ever seen on a television. We can’t wait for the prices on Blu Ray players to drop so that we can start watching all our movies in high definition! The sound from the speakers is fine, but you will need external speakers and a receiver (or an HTIB) to get the best audio experience. For people who have lots of A/V sources, this tv has four HDMI inputs, so you aren’t going to run out of inputs anytime soon. In fact, I only use one HDMI cable from my Yamaha RX-V663BL 665 Watt 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver.
The “Touch of Color” feature wasn’t a factor in my purchase, but it looks terrific in our living room and matches our color scheme very nicely. I was a bit wary about buying a television online, but Amazon made the transaction super smooth – delivery was super fast and FREE. Overall, I felt this model offered terrific value and performance, and I have been completely satisfied. If you are viewing from a distance of 10 feet or more, get the 46 inch or larger.

Was GREAT! Until it died after one week. CEVA shipping is AWFUL!
After purchasing 8 (yes and returning 8 different 1080p 120Hz TVs over the past few months, I finally found one I loved! No Mura, no flashlighting in the corners, it seems Samsung really put their all into the new 6 and 7 series LCD TVs.

The item shipped with a notification that the updated firmware was already installed to correct the issues outlined in the customer reviews. Great, no update to perform myself. Again, very pleased they addressed and corrected the issue.

One week into enjoying this beautiful TV, it died. It didn’t just power off, it completely died. It won’t turn on. I’ve tried every outlet in my family and bedrooms. No power. No red light. Nothing. What a disappointment.

I called Amazon expecting understanding and sympathetic service seeing as the TV has been in my house for only a week. Instead, I got resistance and Amazon tried to convince me to go to Samsung for this issue instead of getting an exchange. They also stated that the Hardlines department that handles TVs would have to email me and wouldn’t be able to speak to me. After asking to speak with a Supervisor–fed up with their excuses (”…exchanging the unit will take longer…” and “Samsung can take care of this for you much more quickly…”) suddenly I was transferred to the hardlines department and spoke to a “real” person. Normally I don’t get angry, but this was out of line.

At any rate, the Hardlines rep was kind and expressed his understanding and empathized with my frustration. Finally, someone who has real customer service training unlike some of the drones you’re forced to deal with. I now have a replacement unit on its way.

I’m concerned about the TV because of the issues other people have had coupled with a complete malfunction of my unit. I was hesitant to get another 6 series, thought about the 7 series but I couldn’t justify the $300+ price increase with little upgrades (sure, there is a built-in sub and a few more pieces of electronic candy on the 7 series, but not enough to spend any more $$).

Time will tell how the new unit fares. One thing I noticed is this TV is VERY lightweight compared to other 40″ comps (namely the Sony XBRs) and that makes it feel cheap and plastic-y (just my opinion).

My other gripe: CEVA shipping is awful. My TV sat in the local Orlando area warehouse for over a week and CEVA’s excuse was that they only deliver to “my area” on “certain days.” My “area” is Orlando, its not as if I live in a rural small town hours away from the city. Needless to say, their warehouse is approx 20 minutes from my home. I asked if I could pick it up myself but they warned it would relinquish them from any responsibility if the unit was damaged–which I understood.

Time from order to my front door: 15 days. Absolutely unacceptable, considering half of that time was spent in Orlando, just sitting in a warehouse.

Not the best experience for my first major electronics online purchase. After this, I would consider spending the extra money to go back to the good ol’ brick and mortar stores knowing I bypass the BS and the wasted time.

Great TV at a great price!
I purchased this TV after reading all the good reviews and doing a ton or research. I’m extremely happy with my purchase! The TV is amazing, despite the limitations of my Dish TV (it’s only up to 1080i). I’m also impressed with Amazon’s service. The TV price was reduced after I bought it, but Amazon was more than happy to give me a refund for the difference. Also, after reading some bad comments from other buyers about the shipping company, I was frightened that I would never get my TV or it would be damaged. I am lucky because Amazon ships from Reno and I live in San Francisco, so the shipping was smooth and very fast. I have my TV after only a week. I could have had it sooner, but I had to wait for my day off to receive it. I ordered it on a Wednesday and they called me to schedule the delivery the following Monday! To sum it up, I’m a happy Amazon customer!
